Lab-grown diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds that are not from the mine, but have been grown in a laboratory. They have the same chemical and physical properties as natural diamonds - they sparkle just as beautifully and are just as hard. The only difference is the origin: instead of deep underground, they are created with high-tech in a controlled environment.

Yes, 100% real diamond. A lab-grown diamond consists of exactly the same material (carbon in crystal structure) as a mined diamond . Even under a microscope, no difference can be seen; only a certificate or special testing equipment can reveal that the stone grew in a lab. You also just get an official diamond certificate with us. The main difference is the origin. Natural diamonds are created in the earth, under extreme pressure and heat for millions of years. Lab-grown diamonds are created in a few weeks in the lab under simulated conditions. In appearance and properties they are similar - they have the same clarity and hardness . However, lab-grown diamonds are often up to 30-50% cheaper and of guaranteed conflict-free origin. Read here more about the differences.

Because there is no costly mining and long trade chain involved. A lab-grown diamond goes through fewer links: directly from the producer to the jeweler. Also, the supply is more manageable. As a result, prices are significantly lower than comparable natural diamonds. So you get more carats or quality for your budget.

In any case, they are more sustainable than the alternative. Lab-grown diamonds do not require mining - that saves resources and prevents environmental damage. In addition, many labs run on renewable energy . There are a few concerns: for example, the resale value of lab-grown diamonds is somewhat unclear at this time because the market is still young. Also, some people are less familiar with the concept, so perceptions may be different. But purely in terms of beauty and quality, lab-grown specimens are not inferior to natural ones. Buy primarily with the heart, for brilliance and opportunity. Don't buy purely as an investment. Yes. Like natural, lab-grown diamonds receive a certificate from an independent gemological institute. We supply an IGI certificate confirming the quality (4Cs) with each piece of jewelry. The certificate states that it is a lab-grown diamond. In addition, each piece of gold jewelry bears the hallmark of Waarborg Holland (engraving in the gold as proof of its grade and authenticity). So you are sure of what you are buying.

Yes. All of our diamonds are 100% conflict-free. There is no mining or war environment involved. We only work with suppliers who have high ethical standards. For example, they are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council, which oversees responsible production . In addition, our partners produce under good working conditions. So you can enjoy your jewelry with a good feeling.

Yes, that's not a problem. They are officially recognized and are just included in insurance.

Product & Quality

Our jewelry is made from genuine 14 karat gold (585/1000) and set with high-quality lab grown diamonds. We do not use imitations or coatings. Each diamond is a real, sustainable lab grown diamond. The gold is always officially hallmarked, with the Waarborg Holland stamp engraved in every piece, and the diamonds are individually certified by IGI. Quality is guaranteed.

At the moment, we do not offer custom designs or engravings. We have deliberately chosen a fixed collection. What you see in our webshop is largely in stock and ready for immediate delivery. This allows us to guarantee fast shipping and free returns. Products that are not in stock are made especially for you. For this reason, we do not currently offer engravings or custom designs. We understand that personalization can be meaningful, so it may be something we offer in the future. For now, after purchase, you can of course have an engraving added by a local jeweler.

Use our handy size guide. There you will find tips on how to measure your ring size at home, for example with a measuring tape or our printable ring sizer. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help. Tip: measuring a well-fitting ring with a ruler by checking the diameter and looking up the value in the size chart often works perfectly.

No worries. For in-stock products, you can exchange or return your ring free of charge within 30 days. If the ring does not fit, you can return it and order a different size. We are happy to help you get the right fit quickly, because your satisfaction comes first. For products made especially for you, we can often assist with resizing, depending on the design. For example, resizing is not possible with an eternity ring.

14k gold jewelry with diamonds is quite easy to maintain. Gently clean your jewelry occasionally with lukewarm water and a drop of mild detergent; use a soft toothbrush to loosen the dirt . Rinse well and dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh agents (no chlorine, bleach or harsh abrasives) and take off your jewelry when cleaning or exercising to avoid scratches . Store each piece of jewelry separately in a soft box or pouch. This will keep it sparkling for years!

Yes, we make every effort to produce responsibly. Our diamonds are 100% conflict-free and have a smaller carbon footprint. Wherever possible, we use recycled gold for our jewelry . We also pay attention to sustainability in packaging and logistics: we ship climate-neutral and plastic-free. In short, at Louèn you buy a luxury product with a good conscience.

Because we work efficiently without unnecessary steps. We source our diamonds and materials directly at the source and operate without expensive middlemen. We also invest our marketing budget strategically and do not maintain physical stores with high overhead costs. Shipping & delivery

Nothing. We always offer free shipping. This applies to all countries we currently deliver to, including the Netherlands and Belgium, with more countries to follow. Returns are also free, so you never pay any shipping costs.

We ship all our packages fully insured with FedEx. As soon as your order leaves our atelier or warehouse, you will receive a track and trace code by email. This allows you to follow your package online all the way to your door. Each piece of jewelry is carefully packed in a luxury gift box, discreetly and securely packaged for a safe journey.

In stock: delivered within 5 business days.

Not in stock: delivery can take up to 6 weeks, as the jewelry is made especially for you.

Pre-orders: the delivery time is clearly communicated in advance.

Yes, all shipments are fully insured against loss or theft. You carry no risk. Fortunately, our packages have always arrived safely so far, but it is reassuring to know you are protected if anything were to happen during transit.

This rarely happens. If you do not receive your order on time, please let us know or keep an eye on the track and trace updates. We also monitor your shipment proactively. In case of an exceptional delay, we will always contact you to keep you informed. If something truly goes wrong during delivery, we will immediately look for a suitable solution, such as a replacement product or a refund. You are not on your own. We handle it with the carrier for you.

Returns & exchanges

When a product is from our in-stock collection, you always have a 30-day reflection period after receipt. Within this period, you may return the jewelry free of charge, for any reason. Please note that the piece should only be tried on briefly and not worn outside. It must be returned in its original, undamaged condition. For products made especially for you, returns are not possible. However, you are always welcome to contact us to discuss possible resizing or to explore another suitable solution together.

Very simple.

  1. Send us an email at klantenservice@louendiamonds.com to receive a return label and form.
  2. Carefully pack the jewelry, preferably in the original box and shipping packaging.
  3. Send it back by dropping the package off at a FedEx location using the provided insured return label. The shipping costs are fully covered by us. Once we have received and inspected the return, we will refund the full purchase amount to the original payment method within a maximum of 10 business days. In most cases, this happens sooner.

We accept returns if:

  • The jewelry is unworn. Trying it on is fine, but there must be no signs of use.
  • The jewelry is undamaged.
  • It is returned in its original packaging, including any certificates and accessories that came with it.
  • The small label is still attached to the jewelry.

In short, return the product in the same condition as you received it. If so, we will not make things difficult and you will receive a full refund.

Yes, exchanges are also possible within 30 days. The process is similar to returning an item. Simply contact our customer service and we will guide you through the return instructions. You can then order the other model or the correct size through the webshop, or we can arrange it for you behind the scenes. Exchanges are just as free and easy as returns with us.

Warranty & repair

We offer a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects. In addition, you receive a 12-month service warranty for normal use. This means that if something minor needs to be repaired or your jewelry requires maintenance within the first year, we will take care of it free of charge. In short, we always stand behind our quality. More information about the warranty can be found in our terms and conditions.

The lifetime warranty covers matters such as:

  • Manufacturing defects, for example an incorrectly set setting or material weakness that breaks under normal use.
  • Loose stones, if a diamond comes loose or risks coming out of the setting due to a construction flaw.
  • Defects caused by normal use, such as a clasp that breaks without abnormal force being applied.

Not covered are:

  • Wear and tear from daily use, such as small scratches or dulling of gold over time.
  • Damage caused by accidents, including drops, impacts, or improper use, for example swimming with jewelry in chlorinated water.
  • Damage caused by external influences, such as chemical substances like aggressive cleaning agents or perfume that affect the jewelry.

These types of damage can often be repaired for a fee, but they are not covered by the free warranty.

Always contact our customer service if something is wrong with your jewelry. Even outside the warranty period, we are happy to help. We will ask you to send the piece to us insured, so we can assess and repair the damage. In many cases, our goldsmiths can restore a damaged piece to like-new condition. Any costs outside the warranty will always be discussed in advance. Important: do not continue wearing a defective piece, such as one with a loose stone, as this helps prevent further damage.

Yes, even after the 12-month service warranty period, you can still come to us for maintenance. This includes professional cleaning, polishing, or securing stones that may have become slightly loose. Please contact us to discuss the options. Often, for a small fee, we can make your jewelry shine again. Tip: if you wear your ring daily, it is wise to have the setting checked about once a year.

Complaints & contact

We are very sorry to hear that, but we will do everything we can to rectify it. Please contact us as soon as possible (via email or the contact form) and describe the situation. We usually respond substantively to your message within 2 business days. Our basic principle: every complaint can be resolved. Service is our priority, so expect us to take you seriously and come up with a solution that makes you happy.

We trust that we will get you satisfied - so far we have always succeeded. In the unlikely event that we do not reach a solution, as a consumer you always have the option of submitting a dispute to the European Dispute Commission at http://ec.europa.eu/odr. But hopefully that will never be necessary; we are here for you.
